 Traffic congestion estimationWe are exploring the possibility of using data available in police cruisers as data for real- time and non-real-time estimation of traffic congestion. The very fact that, using GPS data alone, we can tell when, where and how fast a cruiser was moving gives us a starting point for estimating the traffic surrounding the cruiser.
