Overview:
The Project54® demonstration software allows you to try out the Project54® system
without purchasing any special equipment. The Project54® demo is similar to the
real Project54® software, except that it simulates the behavior of the lights
and siren, GPS unit, radar, and digital radio. In a real Project54®
installation, the lightbar status, radar speeds, radio information, and so
forth, would be closely synchronized to actual police equipment.
Minimum System Requirements:
- Pentium 200MHz or faster
- Windows 2000 or XP
- 128MB of RAM (256MB recommended)
- 15MB of disk space
- Sound card
- Microsoft SAPI 5.1 (see below)
Installation:
The Project54® demonstration software is packaged in a single "ZIP" compressed
file. Unzip the file, saving the file Project54Demo.msi to a convenient folder
on you hard disk. Double-click on the file Project54Demo.msi to install the
software. Just accept the default settings during the installation process.
Installing the Microsoft SAPI 5.1 Software
The Project54® demonstration software requires installation of the Microsoft
SAPI 5.1 speech recognition and speech synthesis modules. If you are using a
version of the Microsoft Windows XP operating system, you may already have SAPI
5.1 speech support installed on your computer, since SAPI 5.1 is the standard
speech subsystem for the Microsoft Windows XP operating system. You can check
this by going to the Microsoft Windows Control Panel and selecting Speech. If
Microsoft English Recognizer v5.1 is available and selected for Speech
Recognition, and Microsoft Mary is available and selected for Text To Speech,
then SAPI 5.1 is already installed on your computer.
If you do not have Microsoft SAPI 5.1 installed, you will receive a warning
message during the installation of the Project54® demonstration software. The
necessary speech modules can be installed by downloading the four "ZIP"
compressed Project54® speech support files (below), unzipping them into the
C:\Project54\Initialization directory, and then going to the start menu,
clicking run, and entering C:\Project54\Initialization\Project54Speech.msi in
the run dialog box. A wizard will then guide you through the installation.

support files on a CD, please fill out the form below.
